Lelekovice
The idea for the construction of a lookout tower on the rocky ridge of Babí lom rising above the village of Lelekovice was born in 1958 at the then Czechoslovak Union of Physical Education.
The project of the 15-metre high concrete tower was designed by the Brno architect Mojmír Korvas and the members of the Sokol Lelekovice physical education union took the responsibility for its realization. Their hands went through 70 cubic meters of sand, 30 cubic meters of stone and a large number of iron structural parts before the construction worth 160 thousand CZK could be completed and handed over to the public. This happened on 15 May 1961.
Babí lom lookout tower the freely accessible lookout tower has been serving visitors to Babí lom ever since.
The surroundings of Babí lom also offer sporting opportunities such as climbing walls with less difficulty, hiking and forest paths for recreational running.
